The Void Pro/Am IS ON for September 26 & 27. And while all the community fun and hot surfing action remains on the docket, there are a handful of changes we’ve made to the contest site and format in order to ensure that the health and safety of our community remains priority number one.
We’ll be strictly adhering to city-provided special event guidelines, with an onsite medical tent with disposable masks and hand sanitizer. We’ll also be cleaning frequently touched surfaces, and discouraging those who are sick from attending the event.
Here’s what you need to know about safety precautions at the Void Pro/Am:
-In compliance with a city of Jacksonville Beach ordinance, the contest site near the Jacksonville Beach pier will have a max capacity of 250 people. With dozens of competitors signed up across a dozen or so divisions on day one, we’ll be implementing a perimeter around the contest zone, to ensure we don’t exceed that capacity. The contest site will be roped off and once we reach capacity, we’ll be adhering to a one-in-one-out model.
-Heat times will be posted on Friday, September 25th, the day before the contest begins. Competitors are encouraged to know when they’ll be surfing and not linger about the site if they aren’t set to compete. Check here for your heat times.
