Ever find yourself bored on a Saturday morning and feel like trying something new around town but just not quite sure where to start?

That’s what’s great about the event growing in popularity- Community First Saturdays.

The first Saturday of every month, the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce alongside Community First Credit Union hold the monthly event on the Northbank Riverwalk in downtown Jax to share what a variety of local businesses have to offer.

Best part of all? The event itself and parking are always free. And most, if not all of the activities scheduled are free.

Last month thousands showed up and this Saturday’s event looks to be the biggest one yet.

Everything from Tai Chi/Yoga classes, sampling local craft beer, food trucks, scavenger hunts for the kids, walking/biking/kayak tours, child ID program and so much more are scheduled at this Saturday’s event. You’re even encouraged to bring your pets!

So spread your wings a bit and check out what you may be missing around town, all in one spot. Here’s the schedule for this week’s event:

 

Activities for March 2:

10 am – Tai Chi with Jomarie

10am – River Hunt, Scavenger Hunt with the St. Johns Riverkeeper, meet at their tent

10:30 am – Shannon Miller Walking Group (3.5 mile walk) Free Pedometer, Walk-Fit Program and light snack

10:30 am – e2ride Guided Bike Tour of Historic Riverside with an emphasis on public art. Make reservations by calling  (904) 945-1571

11 am – Free CPR Demo

11:15 am – X-Fit Class from Just Fitness 4 U

12 pm -2 pm – Spin Class on the River from Just Fitness 4 U

12 pm – Free Infant CPR Demo

2:15 pm – Yoga with Luis Lopez

 

All Day:

Kids Activities including Musical Petting Zoo from Ronan School of Music, bubble making and chalk the walk in the Natural Life Music Festival Tent!
