Fun surf in July?!? Who would have thunk it. Some solid mixed groundswell/windswell compliments of passing fronts to the north made for a fun run of swell for the Void Pro/Am and into the weeks that followed. But, all good things come to an end eventually in the Atlantic Region. We have a system that has formed way out in the ocean, Debbie, but she’s too far gone to have any effect on our coast. There is a low pushing off the Mid-Atlantic that is worth keeping an eye on over the next couple days, but is likely not to be a major factor at this point. What is a major factor is the Saharan Dust Bowl has crept all the way into the Western Caribbean. A weather anomaly, to be sure, but it is creating a SW stir of hot air from the Gulf that is giving us more June like flatness than anything right now. The Good news is the water temps are still creeping up, we are coming into the peak months now for Hurricane Season 2018, and there are some blips on the radar starting to brew off of West Africa. It can and will happen at any time now, so make sure you got the supplies in check and the boards waxed and ready. From now into next week we’ll have some micro hit or miss ridable surf daily, and we have some really big plus and minus tides with the moon phase so if you’re looking to get wet on the log make sure you time your tides right and you might find a little wedge to ride here and there.

Side note: The Jags are back in action, and everyone is pumped for the new season, get down to the Bank and support your home team! Go Jags! Duuuuuvvvvaaalllll!!!
