The term “love” has been around for hundreds upon hundreds of years. Derived from the Sanskrit, a sacred Hinduism language, lubhyati aka love, means to “desire.”
So what does it mean to love? Is it solely romantic? Or can you have the same desire toward life experiences and travel? Is the love given to a pet the same as the love given to a sibling?
In all of these circumstances, I believe the answer is yes. The greatest feeling in life is to fall in love. Not just with one person, but with as many things as possible, as much as possible.
Which is why the centralized theme of Void’s first Love Issue was not just of the easily targeted images that scream “SEX,” but rather with the multi-facets of love that we feel for others, our city and ourselves.
I <3 904 is about the city we all live in. The city most, if not all of us, loves. We desire to see the area improve and become a better version of itself. We desire to take part in new experiences within her. To learn more about her, each and every day, and to grow with her.
Along with loving the region we live in, we also wanted to get our hands dirty with topics of importance of our generation such as dating in today’s world, protection from STDs, loving yourself before you can love others and the dangerous phenomenon known as “revenge porn.”
And it wouldn’t be Void’s style without a little humor thrown in. Our “rubber results,” embarrassing date stories and revealing dating facts are sure to make you feel slightly self-conscious the next time you’re in one of these situations.
The first-ever Love Issue is aimed at all the facets of love. Because as John Lennon once said, “It matters not who you love, where you love, why you love, when you love or how you love, it matters only that you love.”
