We’ve had one heck of a run this winter. And in the last couple weeks the cold tried to sneak back in the window, but spring may have officially slammed it shut.

Although we did, finally, hit a dreaded flat spell. If you toughed it out for what felt like more but was less than a week, we can welcome SB ’19 (that’s Spring Break 2019), with a new swell! We seem to always luck into some surf during Spring break, and this year we’ll welcome swell along with warmer air and water temps. There’s a huge Bermuda High dominating the Eastern Seaboard with a big sweeping low trailing behind that is going to give us a building mix bag of windswell/groundswell in the waist to chest plus range Tuesday into Thursday. It will get a little cooler, but not cold enough to bust out the 4/3 that’s long-since dried out.  Once again, the way these systems set us up, bigger, warmer surf will be getting sucked down the Gulf Stream past the Cape. So if you have a Spring Break window to charge south, now is the time!

On the home front, our local breaks can still keep you occupied, and away from the TPC traffic, if that’s not your bag. Waves fade late Thursday into Friday but look to rebound Sunday into next week. To the groms: enjoy your Spring Break. Be safe. And get out there and charge it!
