Denim Vests
Denim Vests are a must have for Summer 2013. They are perfect to help keep you a little warmer at night from the summer breeze, or to throw over a bathing suit top during the day!
Jean on Jean
The Jean Tuxedo, a trend that the world was sure would never return… is back! Pair your denim vest or chambray shirt with a different shade of jean bottoms for a trendy festival look.
You’ll be seeing a lot of this at Cat Power at the Florida Theater, June 16th.
Overalls
Summer 2013 is not over overalls… arguably the hottest new trend of 2013, they are perfect to slip over a bathing suit for a day concert!
Leather
The leather we saw being broken out in the winter is still a hot fashion menu item, just in different form. The summer heat makes it intolerable to sport leather jackets and leggings, but thankfully there are now leather shorts, skirts and tops that can make the material summer friendly.
Flower Crowns
The flower crown is 2013’s newest accessory. The crown, which can be purchased or easily homemade, is reminiscent of the 1960’s. Perfect for any outdoor festival or throwback concert!
Probably a sure bet that there were some flower crowns at the Peter Frampton June 1st show at the St. Augustine Amphitheater.
What’s Still Here?
If you aren’t ready to delve into all of summer’s new trends, don’t worry! You can still dig up some favorites from last year. Here are some styles you saw in Summer 2012 that you can expect to see again in 2013!
America Shorts
For the second summer in a row, you can break these shorts out any day of the summer, not just July 4th. Whether they have a huge red white and blue flag hand painted across the front, or a small flag stitched on one of the back pockets, these shorts scream trendy and patriotic.
High-waisted shorts with a crop
Summer 2012’s most popular trend has stood the test of 12 months, and is still here going strong. Whether it is a colorful crop you pair with basic jean high-waisted shorts, or a solid crop paired with loud, tie-dyed and colorful jean shorts, this trend is here to stay.
Maxi
We all like the maxi dress and skirt because it takes minimal effort to accomplish a lot. Also, the length provides added warmth for the evening summer breeze. This look is perfect for outside concerts or festivals that are running into the evening hours!
