Sterling Spencer has a gift. It’s not a normal gift, nor a predictable gift. It is a sightly gift – horribly grand vision.

Despite what you may have heard about the Gulf Coast’s surf-centaur, his ability to conceptualize the peculiar and flawlessly communicate his ideas through Photoshop and web clips is incredible. I feel confident claiming that Sir Sterls’ creations make the surfing world a more fun place for everyone to hangout.

His latest effort, “Flashback Boomerang,” is a two-minute short film about a boy out to prove to his father that he is better than him. The Wes Andersen-esque visual piece features Australian surf legend, Mark “Occy” Occhilupo, and Spencer, himself. While there’s not a single frame of actual surfing, I think you’ll enjoy this easily digestible amount of strange.
