So, we all know that Starbucks is known for their coffees and flavored teas, but this new venture into soda is a new idea for the company that will hopefully result in success.

These sodas are created by Starbucks’ baristas around the country and are manufactured by the company Fizzio Handcrafted Sodas. The drink will range from about $2.45 for a tall and will come in the flavors root beer, ginger ale or lemon ale. What makes these sodas worth the price is that they are caffeine-free. Starbucks is hoping to carve a niche for themselves in the carbonated drink industry, much like they did with coffee. Their buying and expanding of Teavana has proven to be a great success and they hope to have the same results with their new Fizzio sodas.

These sodas are made in a large cheesecloth, which acts as a large tea bag. This cloth, along with the new soda machine that Starbucks is teaming with Cornelius to create, will allow the customer to choose whether they want light, regular or strong carbonation. In addition, the carbonation can be added to any of the teas or refreshers on the menu to give it that pop of flavor.

Though the date hasn’t been released as to when these sodas will be made available, you can be sure to look forward to this product coming to a Starbucks near you.
