Identity theft. Those two words together may make you tremble. Actually, they definitely will. No one wants to go through the hassles of some crazy out in the world stealing your identity, money, and ultimately your life.
The good people of The Jacksonville Jaguars, InstaRamp, and non-profit, Shred for Good, gave the community the opportunity to experience a free shredding event and witness some great “shredding,” from professional skateboarders!
On Thursday April 24 at Everbank Field, Lot J, local professional skateboarder Mike Peterson, among others demonstrated their ‘shredability!’ These celebrity athletes showcased their off-the-hook boarding tricks! Along with these professional skaters, Jaxson de Ville and Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley stopped by to help support the event!
Along with the skate, this one-day free shredding service was available to residents and small business owners as part of a public awareness campaign. There was over 46,000 lbs of documents collected and loaded onto three large trucks. An outstanding 630 vehicles stopped by that day to drop of documents to be shredded! All documents were transported into locked bins and securely sent to Shred for Good’s state-of-the-art facility in Green Cove Springs.
“The turn out really made a statement, ‘the people of Jacksonville know how important it is to securely destroy their personal documents,” says Nancy C Keating, CEO of Challenge Enterprises and Shred for Good.
