Mark your calendars for Record Store Day on April 16! If you’re not familiar, Record Store Day was conceived in 2007 to get people to shop at their local independent record stores rather than downloading MP3s, or worse, buying vinyl at Urban Outfitters.

Don’t buy vinyl at Urban Outfitters

Every year, tons of new record releases fall on this day, including exclusive records that you can only get in-person on Record Store Day. Stores also typically throw big parties with live music, food, giveaways and other promotions. If you’re a big music fan or a vinyl collector, it’s a great time to head out to one of the awesome record stores we have in the Jacksonville area. Yes. We surprisingly have more than one. Young Loud & Snotty in Atlantic Beach and Deep Search in Five Points will both be participating in the festivities this year. If you’re in St. Augustine, then check out Tone Vendor.

You can view the full list of April 16 releases here on the official RSD website. Memorize this list if you must. Be sure to prepare yourself mentally and physically to fight through the crowds for the ones you really want. It probably won’t get too crazy, but it’s always good to err on the side of caution. We don’t condone shoving small children out of your way, but no one will blame you for doing what needs to be done.
