One of Riverside’s newest and best live music venues, the ultra-cool Nighthawks hosts a diversity of acts and an eclectic mix of events. With a rotating assortment of craft beer on tap, you can enjoy something new and interesting on stage and off any night of the week.

And just who is keeping guests cool when things heat up on stage at Nighthawks? Why that’s China Horgan. Let’s elbow up to the bar, shall we?

If aliens visited Earth, what beer would you serve them to save the human race?

A Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ by Lagunitas. One beer at 7.5 percent is enough to distract anyone from the invaders and their plans of world domination.

After a long day working behind the bar, what is your favorite drink to wind down with?

We just tapped Mama’s Little Yella Pils by the Oskar Blues Brewery. I’ll admit the name is what got me at first, but the rich flavor is what will keep me pouring it for myself.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen working behind the bar?

Well being that nighthawks is music venue I get to see my fair share of weird on the dance floor. Anything from spastic kung-fu dancing on our heavier nights to a half-naked fat man dressed as a bear during a burlesque show. There’s a lot of variety in our weird department .

If you could have a drink with anyone alive or dead, who would it be and why?

My best friend JIM. No that’s not her real name and no you can’t have her, she’s mine.

Best hangover cure?

My go to will always be a well made Bloody Mary. I’m talking about breakfast in a cajun salt rimmed glass with all the toppings you can imagine and a pickle juice side car.

Oskar Blues Mama’s Little Yella Pils.
