Opened in 1925, it’s fitting that Jacksonville Beach’s famed hotel, Casa Marina, would have a legendary bar program. With its rooftop bar, undeniably epic Sunday brunch, and Florida-centric takes on time-honored Martini classics, Casa’s legend continues to grow.
The spirited character manning the helm at Casa? That’s Ben Seth, bar manager. Elbow up to this Pour-File of Seth from our July Drink Issue, and get to know the man of the Casa.

What do you love about your job?
I love the relationships I’ve built with guests, other industry workers, and co-workers. I’ve met some really cool and interesting people working here.
After a long day working behind the bar, what is your favorite drink/brew to wind down with?
A nice cold “Jax Beach water,” AKA Rumple Minze.
If you could have a drink with anyone alive or dead, who would it be and why?
Earnest Hemmingway. His life fascinates me, and I can only imagine the stories he didn’t get to tell.
What’s your favorite ingredient to work with and why?
Anything a guest says they hate. I take it as a challenge. I feel I can make you a delicious and balanced cocktail out of any spirit.
Best hangover cure?
Chick-Fil-A nuggets with a frosted lemonade.
