Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville is gearing up for their annual MOCA NYE pARTy, a much-awaited soiree that the museum site touts as “an event for the movers and shakers, the artists and innovators, and anyone who likes to kick off the New Year in style.”
The event begins with the traditional air-raid siren opening (just kidding); in fact, the celebration starts in the second floor gallery with a Catalyst Cocktail Hour and Dinner. The real action kicks in to gear with live music by local soul-blues greats Mama Blue and DJ Catharsis spinning the decks, keeping the dance floor packed, while the action includes live art performances, and even more gourmet noshables by NOLA MOCA.
Better still the evening features an open bar with libations courtesy of Intuition Ale Works and Manifest Distilling. No black tie dress is required but MOCA does suggest “creative glam” party wear; so get creative!
Proceeds from the party benefit the educational programs, public events, and gallery exhibitions that help MOCA remain a local and regional favorite in contemporary art.
The MOCA NYE PARTY is held from 9 a.m.-1 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31 at 333 N. Laura Street in Downtown Jacksonville.
