Void had kind of hit its stride by the time Blythe Brumleve took the reins as editor, a post she’d hold for two years, while overseeing some of the biggest moments of in the mag’s history. One of those moments–one that drew national attention–was a Jaguars Issue that featured the then-new Jags Owner Shad Khan—clad in a loud floral shirt and toting a coconut-encased cock(mock?)tail—on its cover.

“We get to the shoot and [Void President] Tye [Wallace] pulls out a Hawaiian shirt, knowing how picky the Jags PR team can be,” Brumleve recalled of the shoot with Khan. “I said to Tye, ‘There’s no chance Khan wears a Hawaiian shirt for this shoot.’ Tye said, ‘the only way we get a guaranteed no is if we don’t ask.’ To this day, I take Tye’s guaranteed no advice with me on nearly everything I create.”

And she’s creating a lot. Though her marketing agency Brumleve Brands, she publishes the sports and entertainment website GuysGirl and its sister podcast, as well as the logistics and trucking site, Digital Dispatch. Chances are you’ve heard her on the radio or seen her talking sports news on TV, as well.
