Wasalu Muhammad Jaco, commonly known as the Chicago-based rapper Lupe Fiasco, is giving some old school love on his latest single with English singer and songwriter Edward Christopher “Ed” Sheeran. The two artists, both from Atlantic Records, collaborated to bring fans a seamless blend of each artist’s strengths over the top of Kanye’s “Family Business”. While Lupe provides his signature, smooth lyrical flow, Sheeran rounds out the song by singing the melodic hook. As of late, it seems as if Sheeran has become one of the most sought after musicians to collaborate with, and with this latest collab, it’s easy to see why. The collaboration will eventually be Lupe’s first track on his soon-to-be-released album titled, Tetsu & Youth. The single, released mid-October, has already become a hit song and is listed as one of Spotify’s “Top 10 Most Viral Tracks” by The Associated Press. Hear the song below, and if you happen to be a UNF student, you may even be lucky enough to hear him perform it live tonight at his concert alongside Manchester Orchestra.
