Ever wondered what the web looks like in a picture? This is a sort of guide to help you understand the scope and content of the entire Internet, thanks to internet-map.net. Google is the biggest object on the map, unsurprisingly. Facebook and Twitter are also up in the top spots, and the usual news sites are all largely represented on the map, which portrays the United States’ top sites in a blue tone and other countries top sites in different colors.
The map shows 350,000 different websites, each represented as their own universe. It was created by a Russian man, named Ruslan Enikeev, and uses an advanced algorithm to determine the placement of each site. Check out the site for the full, interactive version here.
