Short answer — Yes.

Long answer — What has America done to deserve this?! When will I ever be able to erase the memory of this monstrosity? Is it supposed to be so terrifying? Is it meant to be an ironic statement on how ridiculous Super Bowl ads have become in recent years? Perhaps the makers of this commercial are trying to send us a message about our priorities and the things we collectively pay attention to as a nation. If something doesn’t have cute animals or babies, we simply don’t care. If there’s no repetitive song or funny hashtag, no one remembers anything.

I’d like to think that this whole #puppymonkeybaby horror show is a social experiment. It’s more likely though that a room full of stoners got together for a meeting and someone said, “Hey, wouldn’t it be funny if …” and somehow their drug-induced creation made it to air.

Let’s pretend this never happened.
