On September 27, 12-year-old Kaleb Kirshenbaum was severely injured in a surfing accident. Kaleb, or KK as the local community knows him, is a powerhouse who is well-known in the surf realm. While surfing the waves from hurricane Joaquin, Kaleb suffered a tragic accident when he was punctured by the tail end of his board. Kaleb had damage to his organs and internal bleeding, but doctors were able to perform an excruciating four-hour surgery to repair the injuries and was recently moved to Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital to begin healing. Kaleb has spent a long time in the hospital and has not yet been given a release date. His parents remain by his side, recently posting on his Instagram (PLANETKBOMB) a video of Kaleb’s recovery and a thank you to the community for their support.
