After a nice run of chunky Nor’easter, fading swell is on tap for the 35th Annual WaveMasters Pro/Am. Still, contestable surf should hang around through Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, with a big high pressure system pushing into the Gulf over the weekend we are going to see early summer like weather pattern, but with a cooling twist–with temps dropping into true fall like conditions into next week. Waves look marginal at best, but log-able if you’re into that.
We’ll start to see a little Halloween Swell towards the middle of the week as the high pressure system moves on and gives us a little suckup swell. There is a new Invest 95L growing out in the Atlantic, but with dropping temps up the Eastern Seaboard and a ton of wind sheer in the region it looks to spiral out to sea before it even has a chance to develop more.. We’ll keep and eye on it as you never know when things may change.
With cooler temps ahead, now is the time to get into your favorite local surf shops for a new topper, spring, or full suit. It won’t be long until we start to shift our focus to the north, watching for impending nor’easters and winter swells. Stay tuned.
