Cindy and Michael Itkoff are a power couple of Jacksonville. Both growing up in different parts of Ohio, this husband and wife team shared a dream of one day owning their own business. The Itkoffs are opening their boutique called, “fab’rik,” at St. Johns Town Center this August (view a previous article about fab’rik here). The mission of fab’rik is to, “deliver high style with heart, no attitude or sticker shock,” and become the No. 1 high-end boutique in the country, without the high-end price. Their decision to join the fab’rik system wasn’t too complicated. Cindy, 39, has been close friends with the fab’rik founder, Dana Spinola, since college.
Cindy earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree from Georgia State University. She worked as an educator with Zoo Atlanta, as a science teacher, and an educator at the Georgia Aquarium. Michael studied pre-med before pursuing a career in music, but later returned to the medical field. In 2010, the couple moved to Jacksonville with their family, where Cindy’s desire to re-enter the workforce began to blossom. Michael now works full-time as a medical device salesman, while Cindy works as a stay-at-home mom. With Cindy’s skills and knowledge of the brand combined with Michael’s sales and business background, they knew this was a great opportunity for both themselves and Jacksonville.
Besides their passion for their business, Cindy and Michael are superstar parents of two children, not to mention they are very active in several charities throughout Northeast Florida including the Florida Land Trust, Charity Water, Rethreaded, and other programs through their church. Cindy and Michael certainly set the standard high for what a modern, business-savvy, couple looks like in Jacksonville. They are excited to see what opportunities lie ahead. The Itkoffs are eager to see how the St. Johns Town Center location does and hopes to expand to more locations in the future.
