Over the past two years, Shad Khan and the leadership of the Jacksonville Jaguars have made extensive efforts to transform the team from relative obscurity (for those outside Duval) into one of the most visible franchises in the league. While we’re all aware of the tremendously impressive architectural changes at EverBank Field for the upcoming season, the organization has many other initiatives on their plate – figuratively and literally. Not only are the Jacksonville Jaguars committed to providing the most unique game day experience visually and dynamically for their fans, they’ve also placed an emphasis on upgrading their food and beverage game as well.
Some of the changes were put into motion last season with the addition of Teal Street Tacos in the Bud Light Zone as well as The Bold City Burger to honor supporter groups Teal Street Hooligans and Bold City Brigade, respectively. Burrito Gallery, located behind section 125, joined the stadium, serving up their mouth-watering tacos, burritos, and nachos with the same flair we’ve come to know at their Downtown and Jacksonville Beach locations.
Locally owned frozen seafood manufacturer Sea Best Seafood has invested in a significant presence at EverBank with locations in both the East and West Touchdown Clubs, behind section 128, and the Sea Best Cool Zone. Some of their menu offerings include fish and chips, mahi Cajun sliders, shrimp cocktails, and even BBQ shrimp pizza.
Sticking with the local theme, the organization has taken steps toward a superior dining experience by allowing beloved local restaurants to set up shop throughout the main concourse, upper decks, and Touchdown Club. New to the Touchdown Club this year, Springfield’s Uptown Market will serve up sandwiches and salads freshly prepared for fans craving a wholesome meal made with local ingredients including meat and produce from Black Hog Farms.
One of the standout items available in the Touchdown Club this fall is the Cowford’s Chicken Shack Chicken and Waffles sandwich. With hand-battered fried chicken breast, fresh baked waffles and coleslaw, this mouth-watering sandwich is topped with sweet and spicy hot sauce and sure to be a crowd pleaser.
For those craving a genuine cocktail and not just a simple mixed drink, the Jaguars are working with Dos Gatos to bring their signature cocktails to the Touchdown Club with the same flair and showmanship as their Downtown cocktail lounge.
For those looking to take the party cabana-side this season, Executive Chef Tim Hoch has developed a menu of regional and local fan favorites. The menu ranges from grab-and-go snacks like beer and bacon mixed nuts to fresh salads, mini ahi tuna tacos, Niman ranch sausage samplers, and even Backyard Moonshine.
The movement has even incorporated food trucks. The Jaguars annual NFL Draft Party at EverBank featured the Happy Grilled Cheese, Cravingz Mobile Food Truck, and Fusions food truck among others. We’ve yet to see what the regular season will hold for these vendors.
Even the most fickle of foodies is sure to find something new and delicious to devour on game day at EverBank. The rest of the NFL should take note because the Jaguars are doing football food right.
