Happy Birthday America! Fireworks, hot dogs, brews and bikes. There is no better way to celebrate the 4th than cruising around Jacksonville Beach. Follow these guidelines and you’re guaranteed to have a good time.
Deck out your bike – We all want to ride in style. Don’t be that kid pulling up to the party on your non-decorated beach cruiser while all of your friends are sporting streamers, tinsel, horns, cup holders, baskets and who knows what else. The dollar store is great for these finds.
Wear as much Red, White, and Blue as possible – No other colors allowed. From your swimsuit, shoes, nail color, hats, body paint, or any other accessories, rock those American colors.
Yell ‘MERICA everywhere you go – When you arrive to a party, when you leave a party, as your passing random people on bikes during the day, during the fireworks … you get the drill.
Jam out to a Fourth of July playlist – Dance to, “Baby, You’re a Firework,” by Katy Perry, Bruce Springsteen’s, “Born in the U.S.A.” and “American Girl” from Tom Petty, just to name a few.
Eat BBQ – Hotdogs, Hamburgers, BBQ, watermelon, etc. Indulge on some good American traditions today. Don’t forget to drink lots of good American beer (responsibly).
Watch the Fireworks – Sea Walk Pavilion, 9 p.m. Be there!
Be a fool around the fireworks – Those things explode, you know. You don’t want to wake up without a finger tomorrow. Just be cautious.
Steal someone’s bike – My Momma always said treat others how you want to be treated. You wouldn’t want someone to take your bike, so don’t disrespect someone else. Just be cool man.
Drink and Drive – You shouldn’t be drinking and driving anyways, but especially not on a National Holiday, where cops are everywhere, traffic is terrible, and friends and families are out and around the streets. Take a cab, walk, ride your bike, there are plenty of safe options out there.
Now go out, have fun, and enjoy this awesome holiday we Americans are privileged to celebrate.
