Like any All-Star game and weekend, not all the top starts participate in the games and challenges. Lebron never took place in the dunk contest, even after saying he would. Even the best 3-point shooters don’t always take place in the usual shootout. This year’s list of players is one of the most impressive to ever be assembled for the contest.
Steph Curry will be back for his fourth contest. He is fourth in threes made this year, and the leading vote getter for the NBA’s All-Star game. He has not won a contest yet and has said he will come back every year until he does. His teammate, Klay Thompson, who is third in the NBA for threes made and third in 3-point field goal percentage at almost 46 percent, will be in his first contest. He is also a likely All-Star once the final rosters have been named.
Kyle Korver, who is second in three pointers, made and leads the league by making an absurd 53 percent of his shots from behind the arc. Korver will be competing for the third time, but his first since 2005. The player that has made the most treys, Wesley Mathews, will also compete in his first contest. J.J. Reddick, one of the best shooters in College Basketball history, will finally take part. There will also be a 6th player to be named in the coming days.
The contest will take place on Valentine’s Day. If you’re a fan of three-point shooting, it will be a great time to confess your love by watching the best shooters in the world.
