The 31st Annual TacoLu WaveMasters Pro/Am was on May 3 and 4 at the Jacksonville Beach Pier. This WaveMasters contest was very special because it was in honor of Paul Figura – beloved friend, father, and mentor to many. Figura is one of the area’s most innovative and respected photographers, and a man who was loved by all who knew him. The contest featured 18 divisions of amateur surfers and three divisions of professionals, with thousands of dollars worth of prizes. This contest was not not only a great showcase event for North Florida surfers, but was an exciting community gathering that helped to celebrate the life of Figura.
