This guy took meditation ver, very seriously.

A Buddhist Monk mummy has been found in Mongolia and is estimated to be at least 200 years old. The ash-covered man was found sitting in a pensive lotus position. How and where he was discovered was not released by the country’s morning news, the first to report the finding. His remains were taken to Ulaanbataar National Centre of Forensic Expertise for further study. It is thought that the man is the teacher of a famous Buddhist, Lama Dashi-Dorzho Itigilov, who was also found in the lotus position with his body preserved in 1927.

Sokushinbutsu, is the Buddhist act of self preservation. It is said to be the ultimate act of religious dedication and was created by a buddhist priest 1000 years ago, named Kuukai. A successful mummification was extremely difficult and took roughly 10 years to complete. Only about 20 of these have been discovered, though many more tried and failed.
