A few days ago, with the first cold snap of the season looming, many a North Florida surfer were considering either A) pulling out that crusty, tattered wetsuit from last season, and chattering their teeth/shivering through yet another chilly surf season, B) skipping winter all together, or C) re-upping on a new suit and committing to not missing a single session during what is typically our region’s most consistent stretch of waves.
Being the frothers that we are here at Void, we’re steadfastly in the camp of Option C, and we imagine many of our readers are right there with us. So we hooked up with Jax Beach’s Rip Curl retail shop, where they carry suits for surfers who want the warmest and best fitting suits possible (no compromises) to see what they might have to keep our bones toasty and our froth satiated.

Rip Curl’s full line of wetsuits come with an industry’s best 3-year warranty (loaners available while repairs are being done) and are available at the brand’s Jax Beach storefront, connected to Surfer the Bar.

Enter the multiple-time Wetsuit of the Year award winner, Rip Curl’s Flashbomb, and the warmest suit on the market, the new Heatseeker. Rip Curl outfitted some of region’s finest wavesliders in their new suits and the results (as you’ll see below), were 🔥 🔥!
You can check out any of these suits, as well as a range of Rip Curl clothes, surfboards from top brands, and more at 200 1st St. North in Jacksonville Beach. And be sure to follow our local Rip Curl store on IG at: @ripcurl_jaxbeach .

Frank O’Rourke and Void Prez, Tye Wallace in the 2019 Zip Free Flashbombs. Rip Curl is the only wetsuit company that manufactures their own suits (not in China like all others). They’re the industry leader in developing almost every single advancement in wetsuit materials and design.

Local Pro and Rip Curl Team Rider Kayla Durden doesn’t need to catch so many waves to stay warm in the Flashbomb (if you’ve surfed with her, you know she just does so, regardless of the water temp).

Multiple time wetsuit of the year winner, these Flashbombs are as flexible as they come. In addition, the new Flashbomb HeatSeeker (just released), comes with a world’s first Heat Generating “Flex Energy.” It’s the warmest suit on the market (yes, they test for that).

Rip Curl Store Manager, Ryan Halpin, surfs a lot and needs to stay warm, of course. He’d rock the Flashbomb even if the shop weren’t his employer, we’re sure!

The Flashbomb is the world’s fastest drying wetsuit (and yes, they test for that too).
