Nice little run of surf the last few days from a little nor’easter(ish) push! It’s the last week of August, hard to believe, where has the summer gone… With that said, not a ton of swell producing storms yet. We’ve been checking a few names off the list but most of them are drifter storms that have come off land and didn’t get a name until they were way out in the ocean and away from our swell windows. We have had some nice little bump up mix swells to keep us busy though, and that’s always better than being flat! Will the big holiday weekend coming up, we’ll have a little wave to have fun with come Sunday! Currently there’s a Bermuda high sitting out in the Atlantic after the last passing front that’s giving us a bit of mixup leftover small swell in the waist high range through tomorrow, with a big full moon out there time your tides right and you’ll score the better sessions! Waves taper off through mid-week then we’ll start to see more waves filling in on Saturday into Sunday! On the horizon there is still a small lingering tropical wave near the Caribbean that doesn’t look to do much at this point, but coming off Africa there might be something interesting brewing! The last couple runs of the models are showing some rapid growth over the next few days so we’ll keep our eyes on the radars and hope we’ll get a swell producer just in time for the peak month of the season! Labor Day Weekend sales will be going on at your favorite local surf shops this coming weekend, so get out there and score some great deals and support your local surfing retailers!
