What a week it has been! 2 named storms, one fizzled away and one named Cindy wobbled through the Gulf then plowing through Texas and Louisiana into the Mid West and fading away into a lingering low. We’ve had some crazy bands of storms pushing our way periodically from this tropical flow in the Gulf, and some activity in the ocean giving us some near mid-summer surf, but coming into this week through the beginning of next we look to be back to reality for a bit. We have a big high pressure system to the north that will eventually become a Bermuda High, so we could see a little bump of windswell from the south periodically over the next week. It’s still early in the season but we’ve already had some named storms so we’re looking pretty good so far, and as we creep towards July things start to get more interesting! Our first little looker is starting to push off of Africa, and we’re not officially in the Cape Verde season yet! We’ll keep our eyes on this one but this early they’re not giving it much of a chance for development.
