Pop star, producer and singer, Pharrell Williams is bringing his sound to the country music stage. Tuesday night, Pharrell joined Little Big Town at “the show that made country music famous,” aka, The Grand Ole Opry. The group played a song called “C’mon” from their upcoming album Wanderlust, which is set to come out June 10.
Pharrell has spent many weeks atop the pop, R&B and rap charts, and his styles are definitely going to be prominent on the album. Pharrell has always joked as coach on NBC’s “The Voice” that he wants to work with a country singer on the show, and now that he has this attached to his already extensive resume, there are no doubts Pharrell will snag a few of those artists from Team Blake.
Pharrell has even been doing a lot of leg work for the album, visiting the opening of Nashville’s CMA Fest and taking time to sit down on country music’s most popular radio show, “The Bobby Bones Show.” Pharrell told The Bobby Bones Show, “What I really love about Nashville is this is a town about songs. Like honestly, lyrics are the most important thing ever here — and I think that is so cool.”
The album also has appearances from Justin Timberlake, and Pharrell himself even sang on a track. I think it is safe to say tomorrow’s release of LBT will not sound like the same stuff they have produced over the years.
