It’s getting hot out there! Another fun run of surf over the last few days, but as we look at the heat wave approaching we see our Big “H” right smack dab in the middle of the Gulf at present which never bodes well for the surf forecast. High pressure system has set in and a slow roll of hot air and offshore breeze from the Gulf is keeping us in the barely ridable zone for most of the week. But, we can get amped for the holiday weekend ahead because as this front slowly moves on we have a long stretching low pressure ridge settling in behind it that will push this system into a Bermuda High window creating a little suckup windswell/groundswell mix! We should start to see increasing surf Saturday afternoon, and some solid waves in the waist to chest plus range through Sunday and Monday! Another great thing about Memorial Day weekend besides the BBQs are the sales! This is a great time of year to get out to your local surf shop or contact your local shaper to order a custom fish, LB, or SUP for the small wave season! They will also have loads of deals on baggies, flops, bikinis, and just about everything but the kitchen sink! Don’t forget to salute the great men and women that protect or protected this country this weekend, and never take our freedoms for granted!
