April showers brings May flowers is what they always say, yet … we haven’t had many April showers, heck we haven’t had many showers at all for awhile. As we come into the dryer season, albeit somewhat early this season it seems, we have brush fires and smog up in the swamps of Georgia, and hopes that this consistent incumbent SW flow from the Gulf keeps us at bay on the First Coast and doesn’t produce any brushes close to home. With that said, after a little run of surf the last holiday week, we are back into the flatter zone through this week, but there is hope on the horizon as we slowly start to peel our eyes to the south this time of year as the flow of weather begins to change! A south swell might you say? Why yes! It looks ahead after a week of toughing it out that we do have a pulse of windswell/groundswell approaching from the south toward late this weekend into early next week! A welcome surprise early in the season, but after a long El Nino year … and a half …  we hope our time is coming! Bust out the longboards and SUPs this week if you want to get wet and hang in there until a little swell comes our way this coming weekend! Hey! It’s not too early to start thinking about Mom for Mother’s day, so get out to your local surf shops for great gift ideas for the surf mom in your family!
