Well, Hurricane Season 2016 is a wrap, and it went out with a grand finally. It started off active, and lulled for awhile and then things got hot and heavy in the end but we lived to play another day! Some good swells, some bad, and some ugly, yet it was very active compared to most and we were spared this go around with about as much damage as we wanted in the process. Overall, in retrospect we did get some really good surf, and as we’re finally into our fall months we start to keep a random eye on the tropics but begin to peel our eyes to the north because albeit colder months are ahead, we do get some great winter swells, and they all originate right now! Up to bat, post World Series, is a nice nor’easter for the weekend!  There are a few indicators after a long El Nino season of past moving into a La Nina, theres already an indicator of some crazy weather on the way with effects of a Siberian early winter pushing through the Pacific changing our weather flow! A long ridge of low pressure stretching through the southeast with pockets of southerly flow from the north look to kick things off with a cold front right in the beginning of November! We’re not claiming harsh winter yet, but we are claiming there will be waves for the next week! Full nor’easter victory as sea conditions this weekend in the waist to chest high with head high sets range, honking winds, and then we’ll get some better conditions into next week. Down side is, daylight savings time ends after tomorrow so don’t forget to set your clocks back on Sunday! Time to get into your local surf shops and get ready for winter as they have new rubber arriving daily! Make sure to get ahead of the crowd to reserve your new suit for the winter months, and maybe a short sleeve full, short john, or spring suit before the water temps drop some more!
