It’s almost time to watch the ball drop and ring in a new year! Hope everyone has had a great Holiday season and enjoyed some fun gifted swell this last week, and a Jags victory… finally! As the ball drops this weekend, so will the swell as all good things and years come to an end. It will be ridable, just a long range lazy longboard wave here and there until the surf picks up again next week! This will give everyone some time to take in the celebrations with friends and family, get out there to your local surf shops for those awesome after Xmas sales, and time to reflect on the crazy year of surf we’ve been blessed with! Whacky El Nino conditions lingering for almost half the year, mega dry heat spells as La Nina kicked in, and a swing and near miss by a major hurricane brushing our coast that could have been way worse than it was. 2016 was a pretty good year for surf overall, and we can hope that 2017 will be even better! Be safe out there, make sure to set up a DD, cabby, or Uber for your night out on the town, and wax up the log for the hangover sessions! Happy New Year from Voidlive!
