Something new is coming to Jacksonville Beach, and we are looking forward to it. This September, Cara Montemuro is opening Inguz — quality clothes for the laid-back lifestyle.

Inguz offers both men’s and women’s apparel and accessories.  Inspired by stores such as Saturdays NYC, Salt Surf, Aloha Beach Club and Daydream Surfshop.

“It is important to me to create a space where people can come and not only shop, but also sit back and have good conversation,” Montemuro said. Some brands she’s carrying are Rue Stiic, Rowie the Label, The Bare Road, The Critical Slide Society, Rhythm and Captain Fin.

Supporting the local community is also important for Inguz. “There are so many talented artists here … I will be showcasing some of Devoe Designs by Claire Rooney and NVLCO jewelry. I have plans to really expand on this once I’m open!”

With such an intriguing title, you might be wondering the story behind the name of the store. “Inguz” is an ancient rune symbol that means the start of a new creative process. “The symbol itself has been a part of my life for many years (my sister and I got a tattoo of it about five years ago). I fell in love with the meaning and knew that if I ever did get to open a shop, I would name it ‘Inguz.’ I toyed around with a couple other names because there was concern that no one would no how to pronounce it, but nothing else felt right.” Cara said.

Originally from Philly, Cara owning her own business has always been a dream of hers, from her love of styling and the customer experience. Her recent move to Jax had a lot do with taking the leap. “This city is filled with visionaries and it was so inspiring to see so many people chasing their dreams.”

Inguz is opening September 6, and they are located at 388 9th Ave. N., Jacksonville Beach, in-between Skin Spa and Sutra Salon.

Store Hours:
