The former tight end of the Broncos, Julius Thomas, has already received criticism for taking more money and coming to Jacksonville. One of the prizes of free agency has been called simply a product of Peyton Manning and a one-sided player who can’t block. To respond to some of these statements, he answers some of that in a piece he wrote for The Players Tribune, a site where athletes bypass the media and write their own articles.

It’s an encouraging sign if you are a Jaguars fan. He defended himself and said, “The Jaguars made it clear that they were excited to have me as a cornerstone of their franchise, and that means a lot.” He also goes on to say how he knows his game is far from complete. He’s only played five seasons of competitive football and is still very much learning.
