US News and World Report released its annual list of the 100 Best Places to Live, and our very own made it on the list. Jacksonville came in at number 34, topping other Florida cities like Orlando, Tampa and Melbourne.

Jacksonville was given an overall score of 6.7 out of 10. This score is calculated using several factors, including the unemployment rate, average salary, cost of living, crime rate, quality of education, availability of health care and other things. Obviously, they didn’t take into account the incredible horror of driving around this city … but there are lots of other positives.

Anyone who has lived here for awhile knows that Jacksonville is a unique city with a lot going on. Despite a few negative aspects and all the people that love to complain that there’s never anything fun to do, this is a cool place to live and it’s awesome that we are getting some national recognition!
