Its that time of year again, AKA, America’s birthday! Our country’s 240th birthday is going to be another good time. July Fourth falls on a Monday this year and that means most of us get a three-day weekend. So, we are going to have to pace ourselves for this glorious weekend. Please remember that SAFETY always comes first!
The holiday weekend starts with the Void’s Sip N’ Slide on Saturday July 2nd. And while this may seem like a shameless plug, there’s nothing else planned in Jacksonville for you to wear your Stars and Stripes and stay constantly “hydrated”. Not to mention the overwhelming amount of fun you can have sliding down any of Adventure Landing’s water rides.
Sunday is kind of a rest day and there’s not much going on, the Jacksonville Zoo has BOGO admission is you need something to do that is family friendly, but if not, it might be a good time to dust of the golf clubs and go pound a few beers and hit a few balls. Maybe you’re not cut out for the country club? Claim this day as a relaxing beach day before the insanity of Uncle Sam’s birthday.
Monday (July 4th)
For a lot of people, this is the one day of the year they listen to country music and if you’re one of those people, you’re in luck! 99.1 WQIK is hosting their annual FREE country concert with singer-songwriter Chris Janson. If music isn’t in your Independence Day agenda, go back to the beach or stay at home, cook up a few hotdogs, eat your watermelon, enjoy a Budweiser, and be thankful for being an American!
