7:30AM 0 Takers 6ft+ BLOWN OUT
We are seeing solid / blown-out nor’easter conditions this Sunday morning at the Jacksonville Beach Pier. Well overhead surf with victory at sea conditions. Winds are already solid 30 mph+. Crazy enough, this isn’t from Hurricane Irma… this morning’s conditions are just from a stalled out front over our area. Conditions will continue to go down hill as the day goes on with our worst weather expected early Monday morning. The further westward track of Hurricane Irma is good news for our area, but we are not in the clear by any means. Our area will still see widespread power outages and tornado watches over the next 48hrs so it is still EXTREMELY important that you stay tuned to the weather authorities for the latest.
**MANDATORY EVACUATION OF THE BEACHES**: When do the bridges close? Generally, the bridges close when sustained winds reach 40 mph. However, there may be instances when law enforcement personnel close them because conditions make it unsafe to drive on them. Stay tuned to the the City of Jacksonville Beach for all the latest information: http://www.jacksonvillebeach.org/news/hurricane-irma-faqs
