We’re praying to the old gods and the new for George RR Martin to publish the next Game of Thrones novel, The Winds of Winter, before season 6 premieres on HBO.
As many of you know, season five has recently ended and left us gasping for life. We raise our hands and mourn for the beloved characters we have lost this season #RIP. As a loyal fan, I know how horrible it is to open an article to read “all things Game of Thrones,” just to be slapped in the face with spoilers. Therefore, you can read on without any caution.
This past season on HBO, viewers experienced characters’ storylines surpassing theirs in the latest novel, “A Dance with Dragons.” Readers of the series, who enjoy the show as well, had mixed reviews on this. Most of them were negative blaming the TV series’ showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss for ruining their lives.
The past four years readers have always had an advantage on the TV-only fans, but now, we wait and leave it in George RR Martin’s hands. When has that ever gone wrong? *cough, cough* Maybe The Red Wedding rings a bell?
According to scoopwoops.com, George RR Martin said, “Maybe I’m being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish, but I cancelled two convention appearances (San Diego Comic Con and World Convention), I’m turning down a lot more interviews — anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done.”
The estimated guess is that Martin may have “The Winds of Winter” out before “Game of Thrones” Season 6 airs. During the time in-between seasons, viewers must not lose hope and continue to debate online about the best fan theories. Winter is coming folks, and those White Walkers are no joke.
