Fans of J.R.R Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” trilogy may one day be able to visit or even live and work in the fictional city of Minas Tirith. For a cool £1.85 billion, approximately $2.86 billion, a group of architects and engineers hope to transform this fantasy world into reality. If the project does come to fruition, Minas Tirith will potentially be in Southern England.

They have set up an IndieGoGo page to raise the funds, and because of the IndieGoGo guidelines, this means that they have set out with the ambitious, and admittedly unrealistic, goal of raising the funds in just 60 days. As they stated in their IndieGoGo page, “Please only donate within your means, and in the knowledge that this project is a light-hearted venture with virtually no chance of succeeding.”

So far 2,206 people have donated raising £83,185 in 27 days. Don’t let the unlikelihood of this succeeding stop you from donating though, because if the page doesn’t reach its goal in time, everyone will be fully refunded! So, go ahead and pledge that £100,000 for Lordship/Ladyship of the City, you know you want to.
