Since forming in 2011, Northe has continued to release a steady stream of impressive music over the last few years. The band is a veteran here in the Jacksonville music scene, playing at just about every venue available in town and delivering their high-intensity indie rock to eager audiences. Recently, the band reached out to me about a collaboration event, and now, Void and Northe have teamed up to bring you an exclusive release of the band’s first single titled, “Yeti Fire,” from their upcoming EP, Voyager, set to be released September 2 — also exclusively with Void.
When asked about the new EP, the band said, “Initially, we had locally released the Voyager EP January of this year. This September, we are officially releasing the EP nationally — remixed and remastered with two additional tracks. What differentiated this EP from the others is that we wanted the focus to have a more intimate feel, like playing in front of a live audience. The theme of Voyager is that it reflects a discovery of our own sound and our identity as a band, exploring new ground.”
The four-piece band, comprised of Joel Hirezi, Scion Watson, Kevin Scala and Jeff Rivera, will be hosting a special, CD-release show on September 5 at Jack Rabbits for Voyager, alongside fellow bands, The Cold Start, The Inverted and Weekend Atlas. If you can’t make it to the release party, Northe will also be performing at the upcoming Connection Festival September 14.
