Jacksonville PorchFest: A Music Festival on the Welcoming Porches of Historic Springfield

What is PorchFest?

PorchFest is a free event held in Historic Springfield, a community just north of downtown Jacksonville, Florida on the first Saturday of November. During the afternoon, dozens of bands perform on porches throughout this beautiful neighborhood, followed by an evening concert in Klutho Park.  Food trucks are plentiful and a variety of craft beer and wine is available for purchase.  Proceeds of PorchFest support arts related activities in Jacksonville’s urban core.

The fifth annual Jacksonville PorchFest, a music festival held on the welcoming front porches of Historic Springfield, will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 12 pm  to 9 pm.  The family-friendly, free event will feature musicians from a wide variety of genres.

Afternoon entertainment will include more than thirty performers on porches throughout the historic district. Attendees will stroll from porch to porch and “camp out” on front lawns and sidewalks as they enjoy live, local talent. This year the event will be bigger than ever, with performances in both the southwest and southeast quadrants of  Historic Springfield.  Maps of porches and performers have been posted here and provided on the day of the event.  Parking is available on Main Street, at Florida State College,  and near Confederate and Klutho Parks.

Along the way, there will be a variety of food, drink, and arts vendors to round out your experience in Jacksonville’s oldest and original front porch neighborhood.  Each year our event begins and ends in beautiful Klutho Park, with main stage performances near the historic bandstand.
PorchFest brings important attention to Springfield’s historic architecture and ongoing revitalization and highlights the breadth of musical talent here in Jacksonville. Proceeds from the event are dedicated to SPAR’s arts programming and education fund.
