North Beaches Art Walk @ Where Atlantic Blvd. meets the ocean
Feb 21 @ 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
North Beaches Art Walk @ Where Atlantic Blvd. meets the ocean | Atlantic Beach | Florida | United States

North Beaches Artwalk is a free event held the third Thursday of each month from 5 to 9 pm. Featuring many local visual artists and live performers. Artwalk is held at the Atlantic Beach & Neptune Beach Town Centers.  Also at Adele Grage Cultural Center with a different featured artist every month.

With over 55 participating artists, Artwalk is a diverse art destination & shopping experience for the entire family. Local venues set the backdrop for this great monthly destination and community gathering.

The overall mission of Art Walk is to expose the community to the vast number of local artists right here at the Beaches and we thank all the local shops & restaurants for making it possible!  We welcome talent from all over Jacksonville to join North Beaches Art Walk.

The North Beaches Art Walk got its start in 2007 when Beaches art-industry professionals JoAnne Adams, Alice Gartland and Linda Stewart came together in hopes of recreating the popular art walk atmosphere of Downtown.

Through their nurturing and dedication, the event has grown considerably since its infancy. And on every third Thursday of the month, the streets of the Beaches Town Center erupt with creativity.

What was once a small pool of carefully selected artists has now become a bubbling ocean of art, a place where woodworkers comingle with jewelry designers and musicians play into the night. Welcoming to locals and out of towners alike, to say it’s a communal event would be putting it lightly; it’s an experience.

Beachside Buggies provides FREE rides to the residents and visitors of the beaches community.

It’s a perfect way to get around town on the evening of NBAW.

A Green Path Gathering on February 21 seeks to educate and generate dialogue about green transportation. Green Hands and VeloFest wants visitors and area residents to think about human powered options and last mile solutions when visiting the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. These solutions impact the environment less and allow users enjoy the journey more.

In 2013, VeloFest Community Initiative partnered successfully with the St. Augustine Amphitheatre for Mumford & Sons Gentleman of the Road Tour Bicycle Valet. That bicycle project help meet our mission of education and a lower carbon foot print through the use of bicycles.  “With the right plan, we saw nearly 7,000 bicycles hit the road as transportation. We know we can do that every weekend with safe paths and greenways” said Heather Neville. “Teaming with the Amphitheatre again through Green Hands just makes sense to get our community thinking of ways to get around without their car.”

Green Hands has successfully launched green systems by leveraging the success and reach of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.  Green Hands programs such as the Pint ProgramOne Less Plastic BagThe Last Plastic Straw as well as composting food waste from shows and onsite recycling, have helped achieve the goal of reducing individual’s ecological footprint.  Green Hands’ reach is so much further than the Amphitheatre and that is why VeloFest loves this partnership.

A Green Path Gathering offers attendees an opportunity to learn more about local greenway initiatives and state projects such as the River to Sea Loop, how to get involved and education. Doors open at 5:30PM on the Front Porch at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre with an amazing line up of information starting at 6:00PM. VeloFest, Green Hands, The River to Sea Loop and others will be on hand.  Building on previous programs, we will have reusable water bottles, bags and bicycle lights plus a raffle ticket just for coming. Do not hesitate to drive to the event, but consider an alternative too! Be sure to “RSVP” to the Facebook event so you see more about ways you can be a little greener in 2019!

The Garden Of Eatin’ Story:
Garden of Eatin’ was founded in 2013 when we discovered a huge need, not only to provide people with a way to have unlimited and economical access to fresh organic produce, but also to help others enjoy the simple and beautiful things in life like nature and good health. Gardening, feeling the soil, being outside in the fresh air and sun, taking time to sip a of cup of real herbal tea plucked fresh from the plants in your own food garden bed, cooking a special meal with crops picked just a couple of hours back… these are the things we should be living for. We also provide other wonderful items as well such as garden supplies, gifts and herbal remedies and we build custom chicken coops and stunning koi ponds too! Life has become so hectic – getting outside and being one with nature while enjoying the gifts from fresh plants allows one to feel balance, joy and renewal in an often tiring world. Nature has all the remedies we need to be thriving in complete health. Follow us for free organic gardening tips and garden designs, free recipes, crafts, and even cosmetic remedies.
