The days are growing longer and the ideas on what to do during summer are getting shorter, which is precisely why we have created a short list on the perfect daycation — aka, the best trips you can take in a day. For those with busy schedules a daycation is ideal. You don’t want to miss out on having fun and having great experiences.

Here are a couple of our favorites:

#1 — St. Augustine

With only a 45 minute drive from the Beaches, St. Augustine is one of the most popular daycations for the people here in Jacksonville.

  • Potter’s Wax Museum
  • Augustine Lighthouse and Museum
  • Ghost tours
  • Visiting the Castillo De San Marcos Fort

Also consider these small beach towns:

  • Fernandina Beach
  • Amelia Island

#2 — Cumberland Island

Georgia’s largest barrier island and National Seashore can only be reached by ferry boat. Horses that were once feral roam freely along with hogs, armadillos, a plethora of birds and Loggerhead Sea Turtles.

#5 — Jacksonville Beach

That’s right we named our dear home as a daycation because let’s be honest, we live in paradise. Go to the beach and soak up some sun before hitting up your favorite restaurants and bars. If you want to get really fancy, rent a hotel room for the night and enjoy room service, a pool by the ocean and not having to clean. Sounds like a win-win to us.
