From professional interior designers to online Etsy artisans, creative individuals are always looking for inspiration in every aspect of their lives. More often than not these trendsetters are able to become exceptions from the ‘from nothing comes nothing’ rule as they have the special ability to turn anything no matter how obscure or ancient into something entirely fresh and modern.

Of course, chances are you will be able to do this too. All that this skill requires is a little brainpower and creativity, which is why there are so many different avenues to choose from. One option that is particularly popular right now for instance, is the renaissance of past fads. People are beginning to build their own arcade cabinets, puzzles are becoming more popular and even games like bowls are beginning to appear in specifically designed bars for young people interested in taking up the sport.

Still, there is one game that continues to gain more popularity than all of those combined: bingo. While there was a time when bingo was a game reserved for older generations, industries and the public alike are taking a keen interest in the game again.

Why Bingo?

Like many other games, hobbies and pastimes of our ancestors, Bingo’s modern revival is most notably attributed to the Internet. Over the last two decades, almost everything has received a digital counterpart and bingo is perhaps one of the most successful examples of this.

These days online bingo is so popular that you can easily access a variety of high-quality bingo games whenever and wherever you like and play with other bingo fans all around the world. For instance, Best Bingo Site 2017 winner Sun Bingo is home to 90 ball, 80 ball and 75 ball bingo games that can be played on desktop or on mobile devices, in addition to a strong community of players, chat hosts and support staff. Some online bingo operators also hosts a number of other iGaming titles such as slots, roulette and poker. These online sites are massive both in size and in popularity and it’s not difficult to see why.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, bingo has even made its way into the club scene, though it is admittedly a little different from what your grandmother may have experienced. Events such as Rebel Bingo and Bongo’s Bingo can now be found up and down the United Kingdom, allowing their audiences to experience bingo in a typical nightclub atmosphere. That’s right: bingo is now a crucial part in some of the best raves happening in the UK. Just check out this video of a modern bingo night out below:

There’s no doubt about it: bingo is back and even humble DIY enthusiasts can’t ignore it. So, how can you incorporate some bingo into your home?

The Bingo Wire Basket

When this DIY project first appeared on Etsy it received a lot of coverage, even from large media outlets like Popsugar. Unfortunately, the original seller no longer seems to make them, so you’ll just have to whack out the pliers and weave some bingo chips into the structure. Once you’re all done, you can keep anything from magazines to fruit in there.

Bingo Bottle Charms

Whether you want to give these as a gift to someone who really loves online bingo or you want to keep them yourself, bingo bottle charms are really easy to make. Plus, you have complete control over the design, colours and charms.

The Bingo Display Board/Tray

This piece is a tad bit trickier than the bingo wire basket or bottle charms, but fortunately Funky Junk Interiors provides an in-depth explanation and guide on how to create one of these for yourselves. All your hard work will pay off at the end when you’re left with a cute display board or tray that you can keep around your home.

Chores Bingo

Finally, we came up with one our own that will not only get some bingo décor into your home but will hopefully get your family or roommates motivated. Simply create a 5×5 grid and write a specific chore in each of the squares. Give everyone in your house a different coloured pen and tell them that whoever gets a row first will receive a prize. What the prize is remains your choice, but we guarantee that the competitive spirits in your household will start doing chores real quick.
