Last night, Bonnaroovians got the chance to see what acts would be performing at this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival through the return of BLAM, a live broadcast event on the festival’s homepage hosted by Ben Folds and The Flaming Lips. As I sat in front of my computer watching the artists slowly trickle out, it was like getting the chance to see all of my Christmas presents months before the holiday. This was essentially my reaction…

The lineup is quite impressive, to say the least, though it may be a little unexpected for some fans. Elton John is one surprise act, and will be performing at his very first North American festival after releasing his new album, “The Diving Board,” last September. It is interesting to note that this is the first time Kanye will play at Bonnaroo since his infamous 2008 performance, which started a ridiculous eight hours behind schedule at 4:30 a.m. Two other distinguishing headliners are Jack White of The White Stripes, and Damon Albarn, the man responsible for the Gorillaz’s music. Also noteworthy is the fact that Jacksonville’s own Tedeschi Trucks Band will be performing at this year’s festival. Bonnaroo will also feature performances from Lionel Richie, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Real Estate, Cloud Nothings, Arctic Monkeys, Frank Ocean, Broken Bells, and many more.

Bonnaroo will take place June 12 – June 15 in Manchester, Tennessee at Great Stage Park (Or simply, “The Farm,” for veterans). Tickets will be available for purchase this Saturday, February 22 at Noon EST.
